2 Easy Methods To Adjust Self Closing/Automatic Cabinet Drawers
The users can easily adjust the self-closing or we can say automatic cabinet drawers by going through the 2 easy methods mentioned below. But before starting the procedure, collect two important items i.e Screwdriver & Rubber Mallet required for the procedure.
Method 1: Runner Adjustment
- Shut The Drawer: The users need to start by shutting the drawer as much fast it will come out without applying force to it. Then they need to check out the spaces that are in between the front side of the drawer and the cabinet front side. On checking out the spaces they will find out that one of the sides will be single-spaced than the other one.
- Pull: Then they need to pull out the drawer from the cabinet and then place it aside. Then they need to, lean inside the cabinet by using the screwdriver in order to loosen all the screws by pretending the runners to the back cabinet on that particular side that is having the single-spaced from that cabinet side when the users checked that.
- Tap Down: Then the users need to tap down the runner as much far as it can go distant from the drawer side. There are also the oval designed holes placed in the runner that is allowing the runner to move freely. Then they need to affix the screws tightly and then shut down the drawer. If in case the users find out that it is much worse than they need to make the screws loose and then tap down the runner in a different direction and then make it tight to adjust it.
- Line-Up: Then the users need to shut down the drawer and if in case it won't close then they need to line-up the runner on the different side by applying the same procedure till the glides of the drawer won't get back smoothly inside the cabinet.
Method 2: Drawer Adjustment
- Adjust The Drawer: The users need to start by adjusting the drawer if it still won't shut completely even after the adjustments of the runner. Then they need to pull out the drawers and then calculate the measurements of the box only. They need to start from measuring the corner to the corner in both ways and they will find out that the one calculations will be longer than the other one and this will indicate that the drawer is separated from the square.
- Place The Drawer: Then they need to place the drawer in slanting position over that specific corner whose measurements are longer than the other. Then the users need to pull the drawer downwards by applying the moderate force over it and this will squeeze up the drawers so as to square it back.
- Place Back: Then the users need to place back the drawer to its position in the cabinet and if in case the users find out that the drawer won't close up properly then they need to remove it again and then apply more pressure over the corner. Then they need to adjust it again till the drawer gets back to the cabinet easily.
