Step 2: Stain The Sides Of The Wood

The next step is to stain the sides of the wood, with the help of a sponge brush, that will be visible, & make sure to move along the grain of the wood. Allow it to sit for a couple of minutes, before wiping off the excess with the help of a clean, dry cloth. If in case the color is not as dark as you intended it to be, then you can apply another coat and again cleanse off any excess.

Step 3: Cut The Pieces

As soon as the stain has completely dried, calculate and make a mark for the correct length and then with the help of a miter saw trim the pieces on a 45-degree angle. In order to make the corner, turn over the trim piece and then cut it again. This in turn provides the reverse 45-degree angle in order to match the other trim piece.

Step 4: Secure The Trim

Finally, make the pieces dry fully and then fasten the trim to the cabinet with the help of a finish nailer. It is not needed to nail the trim to the floor due to the reason that it must remain drifting in order to bend with the movement of the home.
