Engineered Wood, famously known as man-made wood, is made using different types of solid or hardwood wastes like boards, veneers, fibers, and other items. The engineered wood is used for making number of constructions, and home furniture but still it does not match the properties of natural wood.

Advantages

Here are the advantages of engineered wood:

  2. Ready Made: The pieces of engineered wood are manufactured using electric machines and always ready to use.
  3. Pre Laminated: The engineered wood comes pre-laminated and this will help the furniture to increase its durability and beauty.
  4. Light Weight: The engineered wood is light weighted as compared to other natural wood such as teak, oak and mango wood.
  5. Refinish: The top layer (wear layer) of engineered wood can be sanded and re-finished if you think this is necessary.

Disadvantages

  1. Damage: This wood is not that much stronger then other kinds of wood. It can easily be damaged as well as scratched.

  5. Lifespan: The teak wooden items are long lasting up to 50-60 years if cared properly because the teak tree is nearly about 150 to 200 years old.

Disadvantages

Here are the disadvantages of teak wood:
  1. Very Expensive: The teak wood is quite expensive and this is the main reason that anyone cannot afford it easily.
  2. Hard To Find: The teak wood is unique and for this reason, you need perfect knowledge of wood in order to find the best & high-quality teak wood.
  3. Maintenance And Care: The wooden furniture produced from teak wood needs more care and maintenance such as regular cleaning, varnishing, polishing, and staining over a short period of time if you ignore the maintenance and care of this wooden furniture then you will decrease the life of your teak wooden furniture.
  4. Woodworking Tools: The woodworking tools may get blunted while working with teak wood and this is one of the biggest disadvantages of this wood.
