Ultimate & Easy Way To Build Coffee Table With Storage

There are a number of options for making a coffee table with storage, the simple and the user-friendly option is to make the coffee table from the crate as this will have enough storage that can be used to store different items. If you want to build a coffee table having storage, simply follow the below-mentioned steps carefully:
  • Sand And Prepare Crates: The first step is to remove all the jagged edges or any loose wood with the help of a sandpaper and electric sander and then dust the crate with the help of a clean cloth to remove dust or excess wood that will make the surface clean.
  • Stain The Crates: After the above step is done then its time for staining the crates, apply two coats of stain that will help to protect the wood. Between applications its very important to make sure that the user should allow ample dry time.
  • Arrange Crates: Now arrange down all the crates in the table pattern. The user should not use the bottom of the crates as the tabletop, instead of it use the sides of the crates as the tabletop. The user will also have a small square area in the middle where the MDF sheet will be added.
  • L Brackets: Using the L brackets attach the crates together. Screw down the L-brackets in the center portion of the inside of the table. Each of the brackets should attach one crate to the next, which will provide the user with the base.
  • Add More Screws: To the outside area of the table add more screws as this will help to secure down the sides to each other. The user can use two to three screws per crate side that will help to keep it in place.
  • Add Legs: To the bottom of the table attach legs once the table is secure. Add the screws to the bottom of the legs and then screw each leg in place on the four corners of the table. It's very important to make sure the legs are well flush with the sides of the crate and not hang outside the table.
  • Polyurethane: Now spray entire coffee table with polyurethane and give it enough time to dry. The polyurethane finish will help to protect and seal the table for everyday wear and tear.
  • Make Measurements: For the center-square of the table make the measurements. Instead of applying the exact measurements, make the square slightly smaller than the table opening so that the MDF sheet will drop in place easily.
  • Apply Measurements: To the MDF sheet apply the measurements and cut with the help of jigsaw. Now, simply, drop MDF in the middle of the table and decorate with stones, books, etc.
