Steps
After collecting all the required items, now you need to follow all the given steps to complete this project:
- First of all, you need to draw the pattern onto the foam with the help of a permanent marker. If you are going to warp the foam with the batting for a pillow or other upholstery project, then you need to cut near about one inch from all sides for each layer of batting which you are using.
- Now you need to place marked foam block along the edge of the table, with the first marked line which you want to cut overlapping your table's edge by about one inch.
- Now you need to lubricate both sides of the blade of electric carving knife but make sure to perform this task using a non-stick cooking spray. The lubricated blades cut more easily & overheat less often than the dry blade of an electric knife, which will help you to avert any injuries or cutting mistake from forcing the knife blade.
- Next, continue cutting the foam without pause, for the remainder of the line length. Stopping in mid-cut usually creates a jagged or rippled cut in the area where you've ended & re-started the foam cut. Approach all square corner slowly and then place a framing square against the corners which help you for cuts.
