Steps For Cleaning Antique/Old Wood Furniture With Vinegar

  1. Removing Hardware and Cushions: Begin with removing the hardware and cushion if the furniture have, please don't remove the hardware that holds the furniture together.
  2. Vacuum Or Dust: Then vacuum the furniture with the non-spining attachment of the vacuum, also vacuum in the cracks of the furniture.
  3. White Vinegar: Dilute the vinegar with the water such as three tablespoons of vinegar for every cup of clean water.
  4. Test: Before applying the solution to the furniture its better to test for any negative effect, dampen a cloth in the solution and test on hidden area of the furniture, dry and buff the area with a cloth, if there is not negative effect than continue the process.
  5. Wet A Cloth: Now apply the solution to the furniture with a soft clean cloth or rag, make sure to wring the cloth so that its not completely saturated.
  6. Rub: Now rub the furniture with the cloth, all the way in the direction of the grains, for corners use the soft tooth brush.
  7. Buff: Now buff the furniture with a clean soft cloth that will also remove out excess moisture.
  8. Polishing: Make an application of the white vinegar with olive oil, than apply the solution with the cloth, simply dip the cloth or rag to the solution and rub the furniture and do not over saturate the cloth.
  9. Excess Moisture: Now buff out the excess moisture with the help of the clean cloth.
