Methods For Cleaning Heavily Soiled Hardwood Floors

There are many methods by which the users can clean the heavy dirt particles from the hardwood floor surface. Some of the methods are mentioned below:
  1. Using Soapy Water: The users can clean the heavy dirt particles from the floor surface by cleaning the hardwood floorboards with the help of old cloth that is dipped into soapy water. The users can clean the extra water from the floor surface by wiping the floor with a dry cloth and make sure that floorboards do not come in contact with the water. If the dirt particles are difficult to remove from the floor surface then users can use the soft bristle brush.
  2. Using Mineral Spirits: If the users want to get rid of scuff marks from the floor, the users can damp the cloth with mineral spirit and clean the affected area with the damp cloth and then wipe the floor with a dry cloth.
  3. Using Ice Pack: To remove grease marks from the hardwood floor the users first need to freeze the grease mark with the help of ice pack and then scrape the stain carefully without scratching the floor with a knife or scraper.
  4. Using Toothpaste: If the users want to remove the crayon marks from the hardwood floor then the users can clean the stained area with toothpaste and then wipe the floor with a soft clean cloth.

Warning: Before applying any cleaner or chemical solvent on the hardwood floor, it is necessary to test the inconspicuous area of the floor as the usage of cleaners may damage or darken the hardwood floor.
