Three Easy Methods And Items Needed To Attach Headboard To Box Spring

If you want to attach headboard to a box spring bed then you just need to collect certain items required for the process and go through the three easy step by step methods. Here is the list of required items and three easy methods for this process:

Method 1: Thread-Locking Adhesive

  • First, remove both the box spring as well as your mattress from your bed frame in order to access all the bolts which are connecting your headboard to the bed frame. Check for any loose bolts holding the headboard to your frame. Use your pliers to loosen any bolts which are tight.
  • Now you need to apply 4-5 pieces of thread-locking adhesive to your bolts. Buy a thread-locking adhesive which is specially designed for use on the furniture bolts & nuts, you can break the seal in the future while moving your furniture.
  • Tighten all the available bolts which are holding the headboard to your bed frame. Now, add additional bolts & nuts if you have space to add them in the brackets that are attached to the headboard to your bed frame.
  • Wait for at least 24 hours for the applied adhesive(thread-locking) to cure. Place your box springs & mattress on your bed frame that you removed earlier.

Method 2: Rubber Dome Door Stops

  • First of all, you need to get rid of your box spring as well as a mattress from your bed frame. Pull your frame & headboard away from your wall.
  • Clean the back of your headboard with the help of a gentle household cleaner to remove any type of grime & dirt from the surface. Wipe your headboard to dry it by using a paper towels.
  • Peel your paper backing from rubber dome door stops. Stick a doorstop at each corner of your headboard. Just be sure that you cannot see your door stops from the front of your headboard. Add 1-2 additional dome door stops to the center of your headboard for extra stability.
  • Push your bed frame & headboard against your wall. Replace your mattress & box springs back on your bed frame.

Method 3: Modification Plates

  • Remove both your box spring & mattress from your bed frame to access all the bolts holding your headboard to your frame. Now you need to use pliers & an adjustable wrench to remove all the bolts securing the headboard to your bed frame.
  • Position the modification plates betwixt your headboard and your frame where the holes in the plates line up with holes in your headboard & your frame. The bed frame modification plate comes with a series of slots that are cut on your plate. You can now adjust your plates to find the best fit for your bed frame.
  • Now attach the modification plates to your headboard by using the original headboard bolts & nuts. Tighten all the bolts to secure your plates.
  • Thread your new bolts through the holes in your frame & the holes in the modification plate. Thread your nuts onto the bolts & then tighten them to secure all the nuts to the plates. Now you need to use additional bolts & nuts for added stability.
  • Finally, replace your mattress & box springs back on your bed frame.
