Acclimate Laminate Flooring: Conditions And Steps To Acclimate



Brief Overview

All the wood planks are porous and whatever the humidity is, it affects the wood planks. If the humidity is high the planks will expand and in low humidity, the planks will contract. The expansion and contraction of the planks cause gaps in the floor. To prevent the planks from expanding and contracting the users need to acclimatize the laminate flooring. Due to the acclimatization of the floor, the laminate wood planks get used to with the conditions and temperature of the environment in which the laminate flooring is to be installed.

Conditions Necessary For Acclimating Laminate Floors

For acclimating, the laminate floors, below-given conditions need to be kept in mind:
  1. The temperature of the room must be around 64 to 86 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. The range of humidity level must be around 25 to 70%.
  3. It is very important to cure the newly painted woodwork and walls for 3 days.
  4. The floor must have a temperature greater than the 59 degrees Fahrenheit.


Steps To Acclimate Laminate Flooring

For acclimating the laminate flooring the users need to follow the below-mentioned steps:
  1. Clear The Room: The first step is to remove all the things from the room and clear the room so that the planks can be placed properly in the room.
  2. Lay The Cartons: Next step is to lay the cartons at the center of the floor and place each plank carton flat and side by side on the floor where these are to be installed.
  3. Allow To Sit: Before installation the users need to leave the cartons of plank on the floor surface for about 48 hours.
