Abacus Furniture Project, whose parent organization is, West Kent Extra, is a registered charity which prevents pre-used furniture from going to landfilling and sell them to the people or families who are in need of it at a very low cost. They focus on providing help to everyone in furnishing their home without incurring debt. They provide a 25% discount to all their customers in receipt of housing benefit but you will be asked to provide the evidence. They only take payment by card or cash. At their Maidstone shop, they accept bric-a-brac as well. Apart from that, they accept the donation of furniture & electrical items (excluding television sets) that too free of charge. The money they raise during the process is reinvested back to cover the costs of the project and also to fund more community projects.
