Steps To Install Hardwood Floors On Uneven Subfloor

To install the flooring, the user first needs to check the level of the floor. If the level of the floor is uneven then the floor need to be filled with a compound. The material required to install hardwood floor on the uneven surface includes Sandpaper, Carpenter’s level, Putty knife, Leveling compound, Marking crayon, Wood flooring, Wet rags, etc. The steps are mentioned below in order to install the hardwood floor on uneven subfloor:
  1. Step 1: The first step is to check the level of the floor using a carpenters level. Mark the areas with a crayon that need to be leveled.
  2. Step 2: Next step is to mix leveling compound properly and apply it on the low-level areas with a putty knife and remove the extra compound. Leave it to dry for about 24 hours.
  3. Step 3: Now again check the level of the floor and if the user finds any stain remove it by using sandpaper.
  4. Step 4: Last step is to install the flooring.
